Difficult woman syndrome was what my last therapist told me Borderline Personality Disorder was. Then he told me there was no cure. CJ showed me it wasn’t who I was that was the problem, she helped me see that I feel thing more than most people do and that just because I think something, doesn’t mean it’s a fact. CJ helps me feel like I’M not they problem, I’m just DEALING with problems.
— Maria age 32 (Borderline Personality Disorder)

Being dignosed with a personality disorder does NOT mean you are a bad person or that you are broken. Once again for the people in the back BEING DIAGNOSED WITH A PERSONALITY DISORDER DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE A BAD PERSON! That’s right, even people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, Schizotypal Personality Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder can make positive changes in their lives when they want to. Far too often therapists refuse to work with people “exhibiting Cluster B traits” and people with a diagnosis of a personality disorder. Not only is this stigmatizing and unfair but this attitude is also incredibly unhelpful. How can we hope for recovery if nobody will help us.

This is why I not only WILL work with people carrying a personality disorder diagnosis, but I WANT to work with people carrying a personality disorder diagnosis.

I have lost everything. It caught up with me. My whole family has left me and I didn’t think it could be my fault. My therapist diagnosed me with NPD and refused to treat me. Working with CJ is hard but she accepts me for who I am and helps me see how the way I treat people is impacting them and me. There are some sessions when I leave unhappy but I always learn something and I do think I’m a better man now.

CJ made me realize that the way I do things isn’t always getting me what I want and I need to change my behavior patterns if I’m going to get those things.
